Markers

This tab allows the used to label the markers of the CalTester Rod.

The first section is the CalTester Test Date section. This allows the user to set the Year, Month and Day that the CalTester Marker data was updated. The Update Date in C3D button on the right side allows the date to be placed into the c3d files.

The second section is the Select Marker Labels section. The drop down menus include all of the marker labels in the c3d files which can be linked to the markers on the CalTester Rod.

The third section is the Force Parameter section. This area controls how much force must be applied by the CalTester Rod before the force is considered to be more than error.

The Update CalTester Segment and Results button must be clicked in order for the setting changes to applied to the c3d files and reports.

Dimensions

This tab allows the user to specify the dimensions of the CalTester Rod being used. This is generally used when a custom or altered CalTester Rod is being used. Each marker needs to have the X, Y and Z coordinates specified given that the bottom point is 0, 0, 0.

In addition to the coordinates for the five markers, the mass and the length of the CalTester Rod must be entered on the left hand side and in the center of the screen. The thickness of the plate is entered at the bottom of the graphic.

The Browse for INI and Save INI buttons allow the user to save the Dimensions of a CalTester Rod and then browse for and use them again without having to re-enter all of the coordinates and measurements.

The Update CalTester Segment and Results button at the bottom of the tab must e clicked in order to apply the changes of the CalTester Rod dimensions to the c3d files and the report.

Custom Rod

The Custom Rod Tab is only used when a laboratory is using a custom CalTester Rod with unknown dimensions. C3D files are created with the rod upright and upside down while moving it in a circular motion.

The user selects the C3D file with the circular movement from the drop down menu at the top of the section. All of the C3D files loaded into Visual3D should be listed in the drop down menus. Once the appropriate file is selected, click the Compute Top Tip or the Compute Bottom Tip button in order to compute the position of the top and bottom tip.

Once the two tips have been calculated the Merge Landmarks From the Two Trials button allows them to be combined so that they form the dimensions of a single rod. The user can then click on the Modify the Rod Dimensions button in order to apply the new rod dimensions to the C3D files and the report.

Streaming

The streaming tab changes Visual3D's main window from the CalTester Tab to the Real-Time Tab.
